DANCE STYLES

Ballet
Ballet is the fundamental, technical form from which all other dance styles stem. It is the most classic and disciplined dance form. "Ballet" teaches young dancers the rudimentary terms and techniques and is monumentally important for all dancers to establish and maintain proper form. Our Ballet program works from the ISTD dance syllabus and for the more serious dancer exam classes are available. The examination syllabus offers students a sense of achievement and each grade progressively develops a student’s technical ability and understanding. The ISTD offers a strong foundation for advancing technical standards under correct and safe teaching methods

Jazz
The “Jazz” dance style covers perhaps the most territory of all. It encompasses a wide variety of other styles. Combining the basic techniques of ballet with the more modern steps found in Pop and Broadway. “Jazz” is an upbeat, stylish, and versatile dance form. Our Jazz Classes will focus on using the ADAPT syllabus making sure that performers have learned root movements before moving on to the next level therefore building strong and confident dancers that have solid dance technique.

Tap
Tap is an exciting form of dance in which dancers wear special shoes equipped with metal taps. Tap dancers use their feet like drums to create rhythmic patterns and timely beats, while using various other forms of dance for arm movements. Training in Tap will be based on the ADAPT dance syllabus -training performers in technique and terminology.

Acro
Acro is a combination of dance and gymnastics. Working from the acrobatiques certification program dancers will learn how to develop acrobatic and dance skills with an emphasis on strength and flexibility training. Unique choreography will allow students to blend dance and acrobatics as seen in such places as Cirque de Soleil. Students taking this program should also be enrolled in a jazz or ballet class.
